If you like photography, then owning a DSLR camera is a choice. That’s because if you have a DSLR camera, you will take pictures that are of superior quality. And of course, you will be able to print larger since DSLRs have bigger sensors in addition to higher megapixels.

But with all the good things DSLRs have, they come with some disadvantages too. For example, if you are planning to go on an adventurous trip such as jungle trekking or maybe skiing, are you going to bring your DSLRs with you and risk the camera being damaged?

Okay, back to the topic. If you are currently considering to own a digital SLR, here are some tips that will help you make a decision before you purchase one.
Firstly, is of course, the cost. How much does the camera cost and what is your budget? What range is the camera, amateur, semi-professional or professional? And of course warranty. But warranties are the norm nowadays when we purchase electronics items. Look for extended warranty if possible.

Then, are there any memory cards that come together with the camera? And here is the important thing you need to know. What type of card you are going to get. SD card? If it is SD or SDHC card, then see the grade. If you are planning to take HD video on your DSLR, then look for a higher grade than class 6 SD card. If you are planning to just take normal photographs, then a lower class SD card is okay. But of course, the higher the better definitely.
Then the lens. What type of lens are you going to get? What type of kit lens is included. And any lens filter? Polarized filter? UV ultraviolet filter? Any screen protectors?
Any free tripods, free carrying bag? Well, that’s about all you have to know before buying.
